Meeting
The regular meeting of the
Ovid Town Board was called to order at
The minutes of the
Town Historian Gail Snyder,
representing the Ovid Historical Society, presented the Town Board with a
blanket depicting historic buildings within the Town, to be displayed in the
Town Offices. With a motion by Councilman Beardsley, a second by Councilman
Wilkins and approval by all the Board accepted the blanket and directed the Town
Clerk to send a thank you letter to the Historical Society.
Town resident Alicia
Plotkin spoke to the Board regarding her concerns about the Web site, the
planning process, the Planning Board and the resignation of two Planning Board
members.
Highway Superintendent Jack
Wickham’s highway report was presented to the Board. Discussion was had
regarding a bond requested by State DOT for the highway department doing work on
the States right of way. Action was tabled pending consultation with the Town’s
insurance carrier. Jack also presented his transfer station report.
The Town Clerk’s Report and
moneys collected for January were accepted into the record. As Land Use Officer,
the Town Clerk reported on activity with land use permits within the town.
Board Members received a
copy of the Bookkeeper’s report.
Supervisor Prouty presented
a report from his office.
Supervisor Prouty reported
that a letter of resignation had been received from Holly Bailley and Denny
Kenyon, resigning from the Planning Board. With a motion by Councilman Wikins, a
second by Councilman Beardsley, and approval by all the Board accepted their
resignations. With a motion by Councilman Wikins, a second by Councilman
Beardsley, and approval by all the Board put all Planning Board activities on
hold until new members and a chairman can be appointed. With a motion by
Councilman Wikins, a second by Councilman Beardsley, and approval by all the
Board authorized advertising for two new Planning Board members.
With a motion by Councilman
Borst, a second by Councilman Hubbard, and approval by all the Board requested
letters be sent to Holly Bailey, Denny Kenyon and Jean Currie thanking them for
their years of service to the Town as Planning Board members.
Following the Audit of the
bills, Vouchers #35-68, were approved for payment with a motion by Councilman
Wilkins, a second by Councilman Beardsley, and approval by all, for Abstract #2
for $43,081.49
Supervisor Prouty adjourned
the meeting at 7:35p.m.with a motion by Councilman Wilkins, a second by
Councilman Borst, and approval by all.
